MY MAKEUP ADDICTION: LIPSTICK EDITION

Happy November! I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween filled with costumes and candy!
PSA: only 21 days until Thanksgiving, only 50 days until Christmas and only 361 days until the next Halloween!

As the year is getting closer and closer to its end, that got me thinking about the New Year. And that led to thinking about New Years' revolutions. I know what you're thinking, "Whoa. That is not something I can handle. I can't even handle the radio stations who are already playing Christmas carols." Don't worry, I'm not getting too ahead of myself.

I began thinking about why we tend to wait until a new year to start bettering our lives. Why not start now? So, I began thinking of some ways to better Feather + Steele. I personally love when blogs have different series and recently Feather + Steele started a Take Me Back series. In my mind, you can never have too many series style posts, so {drumroll please} ... Feather + Steele is pleased to debut our newest addition to our blog series: My Makeup Addiction (MMA).

We will be posting once a month about our different makeup addictions and this month's edition of MMA is lipsticks.

This post wouldn't be an addiction post without having an unreasonable amount of lipsticks. So, I won't be discussing every single lipstick, but will be mentioning my all-time + recent favorites.

1. My first favorite is from the drugstore: Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Lipstick in Black Cherry. During this time of year, I always find myself searching for the perfect vampy dark red lipstick and I always go back to this OG. This color is the perfect color for Fall/Winter and is the ultimate vampy lip color. Snaps for Revlon.

2. My next favorite is from one of my all-time favorite liquid lipstick lines: Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Susperia. Kat Von D has outdone herself with these lipsticks. They apply so creamy, the applicator is super easy to work with and they DO NOT BUDGE. I always find myself going for her liquid lipsticks, no matter the time of day or season of the year. This lippie is a fun lavender color and is great for that extra pop of color on your lips. It also isn't too intense of a purple, so practically everyone can pull off this color.

3. This favorite is one of my favorite everyday lip colors: Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick. I love this color because it's a more mauvy pink nude and looks just lovely on a wide range of skintones. I originally purchased this color because so many people were telling me that it is becoming the new Lolita. If you don't know what Lolita is, it's Kat Von D's dusty rose shade that is a major cult classic (but unfortunately is sold out or the bad batch most of the time.) I do own Lolita as well but I find myself reaching for Lovesick more often.

4. My next favorite is a shout-out to one of the most down-to-earth and quirky beauty youtubers that I've ever seen: Ofra Longlasting Lipstick in Kathleen Lights' Miami Fever. I definitely didn't have anything like this color in my collection. It's a beautiful terracotta color that is such a nice combination of red and orange. This color just screams Kathleen and I absolutely love it! This color is limited edition, so I would grab it while you still can (don't forget to use her code: kathleen40 to get 40% off the entire Ofra website.)

5. My next favorite is more of a lip tint but still a strong contender: Tarte's Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom. These lipsticks are so smooth and hydrating on the lips. The color is a salmon pink color and I love it because it adds the perfect rosy tint to my lips on my more natural days. Another plus is that after I wear this lipstick my lips feel amazing, like post lip mask amazing. Seriously, try this one for yourself!

6. My last favorite I almost didn't include due to all the controversy over the brand, BUT then I found out that you can actually purchase these on Urban Outfitters' website (I know the brand still benefits, but oh well), so I'm adding it: Lime Crime's Velvetine Matte Lipstick in Bleached. In my opinion this color is the perfect everyday nude, it's definitely a personal staple. The only drawback is that these liquid lipsticks are very drying, but the color pay-off and longevity make it worth the dry lips.
