Favorite 4 Ingredient Summer Smoothie

I am a huge fan of smoothies all year round but there's definitely no denying that they are extra refreshing during the hotter months. Smoothies are my go-to for a quick and simple snack or if I'm in major need of pressing the restart button on healthy eating. Since Summer is officially here, I'm sharing my favorite smoothie combination with you all to try.


Favorite 4 Ingredient Summer Smoothie, serves one.

1/2 cup frozen greens (I used spinach)
1 cup frozen fruit (I used bananas, strawberries and blueberries)
1/2 cup yogurt (I switch between greek yogurt and dairy free yogurt)
1 cup orange juice
Optional:
1 scoop of protein powder

One of the main reasons why I can pretty much always make this smoothie so fast is freezing everything. I buy fresh fruit and greens and put them in bags and freeze them in advance. If I'm feeling extra fancy, I will even prepare smoothie bags ahead of time. One thing I have been meaning to try is making spinach cubes. It's pretty painless, you just blend a whole bunch of spinach at once with a little water and freeze in a tray.


Combine all the ingredients together in your blender and blend until very smooth. Don't let the color throw you off! In my experience, the uglier smoothies have tasted the best. I like to top off my concoctions with leftover berries or whatever nuts I happen to have in my pantry. Let me know if you end up trying this "recipe" or if you have any go-to recipes of your own!
